“SONGS AND STORIES OF THE CIVIL WAR”

Even today the Civil War evokes memories of struggle, tears, and glory. Following the success of last year’s tour to South Florida, Music, Gettysburg! On Tour returns with a new program of songs and stories from that war, including When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again, Bonnie Blue Flag, Yellow Rose of Texas, Goober Peas, and The Ashokin Farewell, as well as old favorites such as Dixie and the Battle Hymn of the Republic. An encore or two brings the program to a rousing conclusion.
The brief, dramatic stories are based on first-hand accounts by children who witnessed the battle and even lent a helping hand.
Music, Gettysburg! On Tour features Wayne Hill, one of the most popular baritones in central Pennsylvania, and eminent pianist Michael Matsinko, together with Dr. Glenn Ludwig, President of the Gettysburg Seminary Endowment Foundation and Dr. Gerald Christianson, emeritus professor of Church History at Gettysburg Seminary, who serve as hosts and narrators.
